1979 Mazda RX-7 first generation low mileage rare RED and BLACK numbers matching
VIN: SA22C535420
72,677 miles
Original first generation RX-7 with extremely fun to drive rotary motor. Classic car guys will tell you that everyone needs to own a rotary powered car at least once in their life. I have just as much fun driving this car when compared to a classic Triumph, Corvette or AMX. These are so underrated that I’m sure they are going up in value. Ask me to send you a link to my driving video.
History (Service Records and Window Sticker Included)
This RX-7 originated from Fort Myers, FL and then resided with the original owner in Newark, OH. Ziebart rust protection was applied.
From then on until 4/1982 and roughly 30,000 miles regular maintenance was performed.
Records then skip until the next owner, initially Ryan White and then Brad White in August 2002 and 33949 miles in Carroll, OH. The muffler was replaced.
April 2004 49,563 miles: New tires and alignment
March 2005 58,519 miles: New fuel pump
I took ownership in 2009 at 69,134 miles and this is shown as actual mileage on PA title. I sent the car to KDR Performance in New Tripoli, PA. The following was performed:
Compression Check (excellent)
Fuel Lines, Fuel Cleaning, Clean Carb Jets
Replace front cover gasket and oil pan gasket
Replace exhaust system with Racing Beat Components
Replace rear axle bearing
State Inspection
New Tires
New Battery
Cloverleaf Services 2010 69,617 miles:
State Inspection
Rotors, Brake Pads
Lower Ball Joints
Front Struts
Tie Rod End
Rebuild Idler Arm
Tune-Up 3/26/11
Also all fluids changed
Wayne Scott’s Imports 4/19/2013 71,622 miles
State Inspection
Replace Brake Master Cylinder
Look at pictures carefully as I tried to take pictures of flaws, rust, etc. I’m not sure if AC blows cold. The passenger headlight motor needs occasional assistance to lock open in place. The rear defogger is missing a wiring terminal on the glass. Rear hatch shocks need replaced. No engine leaks. A little smoke on start-up if you let it sit. Floors are solid and never patched. No signs of bondo or body filler anywhere. Hood prop rod is missing. Clutch and transmission seem solid.
Check out Black Dragon Automotive. They have body panels, moldings, interior parts, etc. to take this classic to the next level.
